Songs to get you writing again

Musical taste is very subjective, but I wanted to share a few tracks that really help me get back into the mood to write. I’ve found it difficult recently since starting a new job, to give my novel that much needed attention, but when I play these songs, I seem to find my spark again.

  1. A Long Time Ago, First Aid Kit
  2. You Should Know Where I’m Coming From, Banks
  3. Cold Desert, Kings of Leon
  4. Machines, Biffy Clyro
  5. Hold Back the River, James Bay
  6. Gods & Monsters, Lana Del Rey
  7. Drumming Song, Florence + The Machine
  8. Goodbye Angels, Red Hot Chili Peppers
  9. North, Sleeping At Last
  10. Helium, Sia
  11. Born For This, Paramore
  12. Otherside, Red Hot Chili Peppers
  13. Sophie, Bear’s Den
  14. Chord Left, Agnes Obel
  15. Vor i Vaglaskogi, Kaleo
  16. Breath of Life, Florence + The Machine
  17. Lie (feat. Quavo), Halsey
  18. Sorry, Halsey
  19. Guilty, Marina and The Diamonds
  20. Mercury, Sleeping At Last
  21. Lights, Phantogram
  22. Until We Go Down, Ruelle
  23. Titanium (feat. Sia), David Guetta

These are all brilliant songs, and there’s something beautifully airy and ethereal about the music, which is what I love to listen to while I’m writing. It takes me out of reality and plants me exactly where I need to be. Check out some of the albums too, there’s lots to love, but these are just the few that make my heart feel like it’s floating.
